NEW ORLEANS — When Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana Sunday, Intralox announced it closed operations at its New Orleans headquarters, with updates to follow on Monday.

In a statement on the company’s website, Edel Blanks, president and CEO, said Intralox will assess its ability to resume operations.

Ida, which was downgraded to a Category 2 storm nine hours after landfall, hit Louisiana on the 16-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. As of Sunday evening, Ida had left nearly a million customers without power, according to PowerOutage.us. Flash flood emergencies were also issued throughout the state, with the National Weather Service urging residents in some parishes to seek higher ground.

“Our concern for the safety and well-being of our employees remains at the forefront of our business continuity planning,” Blanks said in the statement.

Currently, the company will maintain a US remote customer support facility in Dallas, which is equipped with redundant computers, telephones and other digital communications tools and staffed by Intralox personnel. Through this facility, the company can still receive emails and phone calls through its regular channels.

Due to the emergency situation, Intralox has extended its standard lead times and temporarily suspended free belt guarantees. However, it can still provide customer quotes and process orders through the Dallas location.

Intralox will provide consistent updates when possible as the crisis evolves.
