HERNDON, VA – The Technology Excellence Awards will return to PACK EXPO 2021, being held in-person Sept. 27-29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, according to the show producer PMMI.
The awards recognize innovative exhibitor technology that has not been displayed at a previous show, and PMMI indicated enthusiastic response as far as nomination numbers. The association enlisted top professionals throughout packaging and manufacturing to narrow submissions down to three finalists per category: food and beverage, general packaging, general processing and personal care and pharmacy.
“Our aim is that these awards drive the industry to keep innovating to meet the ever-growing needs of consumer-packaged goods companies,” said Laura Thompson, VP of trade shows, PMMI. “We are excited to see all of the new technology at this year’s show and find out which company garners the most votes to win each category.”
The finalists in the food and beverage category are Canovation for its CanReseal Beverage innovation, Delkor Systems Inc for its High Speed Case Packer for Thermoformed Trays and Graphic Packaging International for its KeelClip 1600.
The most relevant finalist for bakery and snack manufacturing applications, Delkor’s case packer runs at 264 trays per minute, making it able to link with the most advanced high-speed thermoform tray equipment on the market. It can also form, load and close the full range of shipper styles required by US mass merchandisers with a rapid changeover between shipper styles, product sizes and pack patterns.
