THOMASVILLE, GA — After more than four decades of dedicated service to Flowers Foods, Miles Dennis has retired from his position as VP, procurement.

Dennis joined Flowers in 1984 as a staff auditor, quickly climbing the corporate ladder to oversee plant accounting for Atlanta Baking Co., the largest bakery in the company at that time. In 1991, he transitioned to procurement and held multiple roles before joining the team that designed, built and deployed the first version of SAP software at Flowers. During his career, Dennis served as co-chair of the NextGenBaker committee and on the Commodity Ag Policy Committee, both of which are part of the American Bakers Association.

Prior to Flowers, he held multiple commodity procurement positions at various companies, including Conagra Brands.

“I’m honored to step into this role,” Hathaway said. “With the exceptional team we have in place, I look forward to building upon the strong foundation Miles established and strengthening Flowers’ commodity sourcing and risk management function.”
