DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY — The interpack 2026 trade fair is on the horizon, set for May 7-13 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Attendees and exhibitors alike are gearing up for the show; the former ready to gain valuable insights from market leaders, and the latter amped to showcase their latest innovations.

“interpack 2026 is more important than ever,” said Thomas Dohse, director of interpack. “Against the backdrop of profound transformation across many sectors, a wide range of topics are on the agenda, including AI, automation, new regulations, the need for future skills, and innovative materials. Challenges and opportunities

The processing and packaging industry is currently in high demand, due in part to exponential population growth, rapid urbanization, rising incomes and changing consumer behavior. Coupled with this, companies are facing major roadblocks, including limited access to raw materials, increased regulations, uncertain supply chains, lack of skilled labor and the evolving pace of innovation.

Throw in a few geopolitical risks, and companies are growing wary about the stability of the industry. This is where events such as interpack alleviate those concerns.

“In such a dynamic market situation, a global summit like interpack is a central source of impetus and therefore of particular value,” said Richard Clemens, managing director of the Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association within the German Engineering Federation. “Here, solutions are presented that contribute to conserving resources, making processes more efficient and securing long-term competitiveness along the entire value chain.”

“Those who want to actively shape change need innovative technologies and a smart strategic orientation because only in this way can ecological and economic challenges be successfully overcome,” Clemens said.
