CHANTILLY, VA — Jula Jordan Kinnaird passed away on April 9. She was 71 years old.

Kinnaird served as president of the National Grain Trade Council, president of the National Pasta Association, principal at Kinnaird & Mangan, and a consultant at the American Bakers Association. She most recently held the position of president of Capitol Management & Communication, consulting in government relations, communications and marketing. She taught business writing at the USDA and was a certified pet grief counselor.

Kinnaird was passionate about reading, teaching, gardening, traveling and singing in the Unitarian Universalist choir. She was a dedicated mother and cat owner.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn S Mohler; sons, Nelson and DJ; sister, Anne Ringham; niece, Rebecca and her husband, Mike, and their children, Maddie and Ben; nephew, Jonathan Ringham and his wife, Courtney, and their children Willa and Emerson; and her niece, Sarah Cady Hardin.

A celebration of Jula’s life will be planned for a future date. Donations can be sent in Kinnaird’s name to Brookgreen Gardens.
