NASHVILLE, TN — Crown Bakeries, a manufacturer of assorted fresh and frozen baked goods,  announced the addition of a high-speed bun production line at its Pleasant Prairie, WI, facility.

When Commercial Baking visited the bakery earlier this year, it got an exclusive look at how the new line would be integrated into current operations.

“This expansion is a direct reflection of our dedication to meeting customer needs with speed, scale and precision,” said Yianny Caparos, CEO of Crown Bakeries.

The new line investment — among the latest Crown has made in its network of commercial bakeries — will significantly increase the baking company’s bun production volume and bolster its manufacturing capabilities. Crown anticipates the line will be fully operational this November.

“The addition of this new line in Pleasant Prairie allows us to continue raising the bar on quality and reliability while investing in the long-term growth of our business, our team, and above all, our customers,” said Doug Bame, president of Crown Bakeries.

The AMF bun production line, designed to accommodate multiple packaging formats for CPG, QSR and retail customers, will have the ability to produce nearly 2.3 million buns per day. In addition to its high-volume capabilities, the bun line’s centralized location, just outside of Chicago, offers logistics and supply chain benefits for the region.
