CARMEL, IN — The American Society of Baking (ASB) further expanded its educational offerings with the debut of its Masterclass Program, designed specifically for commercial bakeries.
The training resource accommodates 10-20 employees and is designed for bakeries seeking to invest in their team’s professional development.
“The ASB Masterclass Program is a unique opportunity for commercial bakeries, combining comprehensive online technical training with hands-on, personalized coaching tailored to each facility,” said Sarah Day, director of education for ASB. “This program gives access to top-quality, specialized training that will empower entire bakery teams to elevate their skills, improve operations and drive innovation.”
Masterclass is broken down into two parts: online learning and on-site training.
Online learning
The first portion of the training initiative requires each participant to complete a series of 10 self-paced courses. ASB’s curated modules offer foundational knowledge and advanced techniques, giving participants a deeper understanding of baking science and large-scale production methods.
Each lesson dives into must-know insights on the science of baking and bread production. Topics range from understanding the essential ingredients for baking to exploring best practices for upholding product quality.
On-site training
Once all participants complete the online portion of the program, an experienced ASB instructor will visit the bakery’s facility and host a day-long, hands-on training and troubleshooting session. This portion of the program prioritizes participants, applying learnings from Masterclass directly to the production line and offering guidance on future troubleshooting.
At the end of the program, each participating employee will receive an ASB certificate. Companies will also be recognized on stage for their involvement in Masterclass at BakingTECH, set for Feb. 15-18 in Orlando, FL.
Pricing
The Masterclass Program includes 10 online courses, a one-year digital ASB membership, and on-site training for up to 20 participants. In total, the estimated cost is $20,000 in addition to travel expenses for the ASB-certified trainer.
Enrollment for ASB Masterclass is available year-round, though on-site coaching availability may be limited and must be booked at a mutually agreeable time. For more information, visit the ASB website.
