WINONA, MN — Bay State Milling Co., the largest family-owned, privately held grain miller in the US, is celebrating 125 years of business.
Since 1899, the milling company has expanded beyond flour to offer a variety of grain-based ingredients, including innovative and nutrition-forward products.
“In 1899, our founder traveled by train all the way from Boston to Winona to buy a bankrupt flour mill on the banks of the Mississippi River,” said Pete Levangie, president and CEO of Bay State Milling. “Since then, Bay State Milling has been on a relentless pursuit to promote the growth of nutritious, sustainable and accessible ingredients within our food system.”
