CARMEL, IN — The American Society of Baking (ASB) announced the inductees to its 2024 Baking Hall of Fame.
The new members will be recognized for their contributions to the baking industry at the association’s annual conference, BakingTECH 2024, set for Feb. 27-29 in Chicago.

“About a year ago we changed our nomination format to focus primarily on one criteria: positive impact on the baking industry,” said Rowdy Brixey, chair of the Baking Hall of Fame Selection Committee and president and CEO of Brixey Engineering. “This year’s inductees demonstrate just that.”
The 2024 Baking Hall of Fame inductees are:
- Robert Benton | retired executive VP of network optimization | Flowers Foods
- Norman Borlaug, PhD | American agronomist
- Erin Sharp | retired group VP of general manufacturing | The Kroger Co.
- Fred Springer | retired CEO | Burford Corp.
