WEERT, NETHERLANDS —Syntegon Processing and Packaging has reopened its expanded site in Weert with an additional new office building and production space. The expansion allows for increased production and labor flexibility, a stronger customer focus and enhanced support for Syntegon’s sustainability goals.

“Process efficiency, a reduction of the carbon footprint and modern working requirements were the main drivers of this project,” said  Frank van Kuijk, managing director at Syntegon. “We are looking forward to welcoming our customers in this new state-of-the-art environment. Furthermore, we now offer our employees a motivating workspace that fosters cross-functional collaboration and ideal conditions for personal growth.”

The Weert site features an additional 43,000 square feet of production and warehouse facilities, 16,000 square feet of new workspace for shared use and targeted customer support, and carbon footprint reduction through heat pumps, LED lighting and photovoltaics.

The new workspaces foster cross-functional collaboration and strengthen on-site exchanges. The new office building is connected to the existing Customer Experience and Innovation center, which will allow for further interaction with customers.

“This new building marks a milestone in Syntegon’s growth journey,” said Torsten Turling, CEO of Syntegon. “It reflects our commitment to innovation and collaboration and to creating the best experience for our customers and employees.”

Reducing distances and restructuring the use of existing buildings were key factors for the site conversion. The expanded site allows Syntegon to assemble, test and ship packaging equipment under one roof. The production facility’s increased height of 120 square feet offers ample space for large construction projects.

Syntegon’s sustainability goals include reducing its overall carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. With the new site layout, Syntegon can reduce gas consumption by up to 60%, totaling an annual CO2 reduction of 240 tons.
