LAS VEGAS — While opportunities abound for industry professionals at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), students interested in pursuing a career in baking can also find unique ways to participate in the show.
The IBIE Volunteer Program offers exclusive admission to show features, including seminars, competitions and demonstrations. In exchange for five hours of volunteer time, students and instructor volunteers will receive a free Exhibit Hall Pass, which is valued at $295.
Volunteers help out with competitions held on the show floor, demos and educational seminars. They will also gain access to the more than 20,000 baking professionals representing an array of segments at the show, offering a valuable networking opportunity for students.
With access to the more than 1 million gross square feet of exhibit space, students will also be able to learn about the latest advances in the industry, giving them a competitive advantage.
First launched in 2019, the Student Immersion Program offers a richer experience to support students in finding a career in the baking industry.
Students selected for the Immersion Program — who receive the same benefits as those participating in the Volunteer Program — are paired with an industry mentor and invited to participate in meetings with select exhibitors. They will also receive a stipend for travel and accommodations for the show.
Students are eligible for the program if they attend all days of the Baking Expo, work as a session monitor during a minimum of six IBIEducate sessions and submit an essay post-IBIE. They must also have an academic chaperone attend.
