HAUPPAUGE, NY — Richard Ross, former president of Charles Ross & Son Company, passed away September 14. He was 86 years old.

Ross was an exceptional leader and innovator. He took the helm as president of Charles Ross & Son Company, also known as Ross Mixers, in 1961. His leadership, foresight and dedication drove the company to new heights. He established manufacturing facilities in New York, Georgia and Florida.

Ross’ commitment to innovation and excellence expanded the company’s footprint beyond its US roots, leading to the establishment of major operations worldwide, including China and India. Ross also established the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan which empowered employees as stakeholders and continued the growth of the company in the mixing technology industry.

Outside of his professional career, Ross was passionate about animals and traveling the world, with a deep appreciation of the water. He was an avid sport fisherman and enjoyed spending his leisure time on the sea.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located at 623 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, Florida 39994.
