CHARLOTTE, NC — The first Friday of June marks National Donut Day and an opportunity for donut companies to draw in consumers with promotions. Krispy Kreme, a titan in the world of quick-serve donuts, is doing just that.

The company is celebrating on June 3 with its “Sweet New Deal” for consumers. Beyond any free donut per person for the holiday, customers can enjoy a dozen of the brand’s Original Glazed donuts for $1 with the purchase of any dozen or 16 count minis.

This promotion also includes a National Donut Day exclusive 50% discount on the Krispy Kreme Eat Doughnuts Hat.

Additionally, the brand is revisiting its “Beat the Pump” promotion, setting the price of a dozen Original Glazed donuts based on the national average price of a gallon of regular gas each Wednesday. The deal begins June 8 and runs through August 31.

“We love our tradition of giving fans any donut they want on National Donut Day,” said Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. “But with inflation on gas prices and everything else showing no signs of easing, we hope to brighten everyone’s day this summer with our [promotion], whether it’s stopping by to grab a free hot, fresh Original Glazed donut for yourself or picking up a dozen on Wednesdays for the same price as a gallon of gas.”

For one last surprise, consumers who go to their local brick-and-mortar location for their free donut will also receive a coupon to try a new mystery glaze flavor on June 10, which the company is teasing to be “berry sweet.”
