LENEXA, KS —Nearly 2,000 Hostess Brands bakery and warehouse employees were awarded bonuses of up to $1,000, acknowledging their hard work over the past months.
“At Hostess, our people are our top priority, and we are pleased to reward and recognize the flexibility and commitment of our bakery and warehouse workers with ‘thank you’ bonuses for the second time this year,” said Rob Weber, chief people officer.
Due to supply chain shortages causing ingredient availability issues, Hostess Brands often faced immense challenges in producing their snacks. Occasionally, this meant rearranging production layouts and deliveries, causing adjustments in employees schedules.
“Our frontline workers are essential to delivering the high-quality, great-tasting Hostess and Voortman snacks,” Weber said. “We are so thankful to our employees who, despite continued supply chain challenges, have remained flexible with their schedules to always meet the needs of our customers and consumers.”
Additionally, Hostess touts an incredibly low Total Incident Rate (TIR), or the number of incidents a company has per 100 full-time employees. While the national average warehouse TIR is 5.1, Hostess Brands’ is 1.26 TIR. Over the past 60 days, the company’s bakery network and warehouse has been free of lost time due to accidents.
