Grupo Bimbo acquires Spanish gluten-free bakery

MEXICO CITY — During Grupo Bimbo’s earnings conference call for Q4 2023, the company announced the acquisition of Cordoba, Spain-based Amaritta Food, a manufacturer of gluten-free products free from major allergens.

“I would like to share with you that we successfully completed the acquisition of Amaritta Food in Spain, a company that specializes in research and development in gluten-free bread,” said Daniel Servitje, chair and CEO of Grupo Bimbo.

Servitje shared that the acquisition of the Spanish bakery will help Grupo Bimbo continue to gain insight on this category and capitalize on the gluten-free category’s high growth potential.
