CORONA, CA — Food For Life Baking Co., known for its sprouted grain products such as Ezekiel bread, today announced a new line of sprouted flourless flax tortillas.
The tortillas are plant-based and contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, as well as fiber, which can aid in heart health. Each tortilla contains 150 calories and 7 grams of protein — making them a nutrient-dense option for wraps, burritos, quesadillas and more.
The tortillas are a part of the Ezekiel 4:9 line, drawing inspiration from a recipe for sprouted bread in the Bible consisting of various grains and legumes. The combination provides a complete protein and enzymes that promote better digestion.
“We love the added health boost and flavor profile that flax seeds contribute to our latest tortilla recipe,” said Gary Torres, Food For Life company principal. “Flax seeds are a great source of soluble fiber, lignans and omega-3 fatty acids, which cannot be produced by the human body but are vital for overall health.”
The tortillas are sold in packs of six and available in the freezer section of natural food stores and better supermarkets across the US.
