NORCROSS, GA – Engelman’s Bakery, a wholesale bakery that specializes in various bread products including rolls, buns and sandwich breads, announced a new partnership with regional food broker Food Sales East.

Engelman’s CEO Fred LeFranc said the company is excited to see the future growth that will come through the partnership.

Engelman’s has 200 years of history behind its name. It was founded in 1983 by Sammy Engelman and his sister, Miriam Engelman Gur-Lavi, whose parents ran a bakery in Israel before immigrating to New York in 1961. After years of working in the family’s bakeries, Miriam suggested that it was time to start something new in Atlanta, GA.

Sammy Engelman made the move to Georgia in 1981 and opened a full-time retail bakery in 1983, which evolved into a 100% wholesale business, moving them to their current space in Norcross in 1997. The company’s 46,000 square-foot facility is AIB International and ASI Food Safety certified and built to exceed customer requirements.

Engelman’s new partner, Food Sales East, advises customers in nine states across the Southeastern US including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The group works to establish partnerships for their customers with restaurants, hospitals, schools, casinos and entertainment venues.
