CHICAGO — In an edible art collaboration, Eli’s Cheesecake and artist Nick Cave announced their partnership at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s premiere of Cave’s documentary 367 days, which looks into the making of the artist’s community made performance, The Color Is.

Both parties crossed paths in 2022 when Eli’s, Cave and Bob Faust, the artist’s life partner, won the Mayor’s Medal of Honor, a distinction which is given to those who have made extraordinary contributions to Chicago. With a mutual commitment to civic responsibility, Cave and Faust had the idea to create a collaboration that would honor the power of connection with proceeds benefiting their non-profict Facility Foundation. The organization supports young, underrepresented artists with scholarships, commissions, and presentation opportunities.

“This rainbow package contains an extremely delicious collection of life tenets chosen and designed by myself and created by the extraordinary team at Eli’s, as a response to my exhibition titled Forothermore,” Cave said. “I see these tenets as guideposts and filters that warm and connect us to each other.”
