HORSHAM, PA — For the sixth consecutive year, Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) partnered with Walmart and Tyson Foods to donate a total of 50,000 pounds of bread and 300,000 pounds of protein to 10 Feeding America food banks across the US.
Feeding America is the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the US. As a Feeding America Leadership Partner, BBU donates over 20 million pounds of food annually to local food banks in the US.
Representatives from the three partnering companies also visited each of the recipient food banks to volunteer at and tour the facilities.
The food banks include Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans; Food Bank of South Jersey in Pennsauken, NJ; Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley in Youngstown, OH; Mid-South Food Bank in Memphis, TN; North Texas Food Bank in Plano, TX; Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva, IL; Feeding Tampa Bay in Tampa, FL; Gleaners Community Food Bank in Detroit; Rhode Island Community Food Bank in Providence, RI; and Lowcountry Food Bank in Charleston, SC.
