CLEARWATER, FL – Base Culture, a leading paleo baked goods company, announced a new addition to its bread line this morning: Paleo and Keto Certified Sourdough.

The pre-sliced bread contains 6 grams of net carbs and features ingredients such as eggs, cashew butter, almond flour, arrowroot flour and apple cider vinegar.

Founder Jordann Amatea launched Base Culture after a 30-day paleo challenge that turned into a lasting lifestyle. The diet helped her feel healthier and more energetic, but she soon realized there were no paleo options for classic baked goods in the marketplace. “So I set out to create them myself,” Amatea said today, during her presentation at the Almond Board of California’s Virtual Food Trends Showcase.

The company’s products are non-GMO and free of gluten, grains, preservatives and dairy. By catering to a unique audience, Base Culture evolved from a hobby in Amatea’s apartment kitchen to a 44,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant of its own, in just over three years. The company is one of the fastest-growing brands in the paleo and gluten-free bread space. Its products are now sold in more than 10,000 stores nationwide, but Amatea sees even more room for growth.

“It’s not lost on us that diet trends come and go,” Amatea said. “We have the flexibility and agility to innovate with bringing new products into the marketplace.”

Amatea is excited to capitalize on the sourdough craze with a product that meets these dietary lifestyles.

“It’s no secret that sourdough bread has skyrocketed in popularity over the past year, and we’re thrilled to introduce a gluten-free, keto and deliciously nourishing sourdough option,” Amatea said. “Our Paleo and Keto Certified Sourdough Bread is the first-of-its-kind and is made with wholesome, pure paleo ingredients that capture the irresistible flavor and texture of traditional sourdough, without the hassle of baking it at home.”

Base Culture is also known for its brownies, sweet breads and almond butter — all of which are made with clean, wholesome ingredients. Considering its keto and paleo certifications, the company relies on unique, powerhouse ingredients to make its formulations possible. One of them is the almond.

“Seventy-five percent of Base Culture’s products contain almonds or an almond-based ingredient,” Amatea said. “They help bind our ingredients together and provide nutrients, protein and moisture.”

As Base Culture continues to innovate and grow, its team is focused on one mission: to nourish bodies and inspire simple daily joy with its pure paleo baked goods and snacks.
