STONEY CREEK, ONTARIO — Bartek Ingredients, a leading producer of malic and fumaric acid and maleic anhydride, has started building a new vertically integrated facility that will become the world’s largest production plant for malic and food-grade fumaric.
The $160 million project is set to be complete in late 2023, and it will double the company’s capacity.
Bartek anticipates continued market expansion, and this new facility is designed to support the company’s growth for years to come. The facility will also be expandable to produce new projects such as buffer and fortification sales and additional volumes of the acids.
WSP Global, a world-renowned engineering consulting firm, is leading the construction and design of the project.
