CARMEL, IN — Through a collaboration with the American Bakers Association (ABA), Baking Basics 101 — a wholesale bakery training course — is now accessible on the American Society of Baking’s (ASB) Education Hub.

In integrating ABA’s Bakers Manufacturing Academy (BMA) courses with ASB’s Education Hub, the associations can increase access to professional baking education and provide added convenience for members of the commercial baking industry.

“By sharing this valuable knowledge, we empower individuals to thrive in their careers and drive collective progress within the industry,” said Sarah Day, director of education for ASB.

The one-hour Baking Basics 101 course is an onboarding lesson that  includes training on workplace safety, food safety and hygiene, and technical training to complement any wholesale baking facility’s current operations and procedures. Attendees receive a certificate when they complete the course.

“This opportunity will allow members of ASB and the ABA access to quality and affordable training for their teams and for themselves as professionals,” said Samantha Moore, senior director of meetings and education at ABA. “Suppliers and bakers alike will find that the technical training provided through this collaboration will prove invaluable as workforce training and retention demands continue to be a top challenge for the industry.”

Baking Basics 101 is one of several offerings in ABA’s Bakers Manufacturing Academy, which provides courses on industry-specific, technical education for bakery production employees of all levels. The course catalogue will soon be available in ASB’s Education Hub.
