OVERLAND PARK, KS — Robert “Bob” Winslow Hatch, a long-term member of the baking industry, and US Army Reserve veteran, passed away Jan. 24. He was 86 years old.
Hatch served as chair and CEO of Cereal Ingredients, Inc., a specialty food ingredients manufacturer he founded in 1990. During the same time, he led Great Plains Analytical Laboratory in Kansas City, MO. Early in his professional career, he was EVP at General Mills and chair, president and CEO at Interstate Bakeries Corp.
In 1984, Hatch founded FINCA International, a nonprofit microfinance organization, with his brother John. Hatch served as board chair for the organization until 2021. He also served in various volunteer capacities.
He is survived by Nancy P. Hatch, his wife of 62 years; his children Kristin G. Hatch (Delaina J. Miller) and Robert W. Hatch, Jr. (Marian Saksena Hatch); one grandchild, Bridget Murphy Hatch; his siblings, John and Rosita Hatch Hiscox; his nephew and nieces and their families, and other relatives and longtime friends.
Memorial contributions can be made in Hatch’s honor to FINCA. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
