CINCINNATI — Ditsch USA, the US division of the world’s market leader for pretzel baked goods, recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new production facility in Springdale, OH.
Ditsch invested approximately $70 million to convert a former Costco store into a state-of-the-art production facility that is expected to bring 150 new jobs to the area over the next two years.
The new location, combined with an existing facility in Springdale, will double Ditsch’s production capacity over the next three years to meet growing demand.
“Our commitment to the Springdale community is strong,” said Thorsten Schroeder, Ditsch USA’s president and CEO. “Between the two factories located in Springdale, Ditsch USA employs over 180 people, with 80 new jobs having been added in the last three years alone. We will continue to invest in our associates through advanced training, education and career advancement opportunities.”
“With our new, second plant in the US and the capacity expansions in Germany, we are laying the foundation for further growth.” — Michael Mueller | CEO | Valora Group
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held Oct. 22, featured remarks from Schroeder; Michael Mueller, CEO of Valora Group, parent company of Ditsch; Lawrence Hawkins III, Springdale’s mayor; and Kimm Lauterbach, president and CEO of REDI Cincinnati.
“Ditsch expertly combines tradition with innovativeness and has thus grown into the world market leader for pretzel bakery products,” Mueller said. “With our new, second plant in the US and the capacity expansions in Germany, we are laying the foundation for further growth.”
