SCOTT DEPOT, WV — Frito-Lay, a division of the PepsiCo, Inc., officially opened its $16 million distribution center in Scott Depot, WV, this week.
The new 70,000-sq.-ft. facility and its 100 associates will be a critical distribution point within Frito-Lay’s supply chain, according to Laura Maxwell, SVP of supply chain at PepsiCo Foods North America.
Frito-Lay has had a presence in West Virginia for the past four decades, with a distribution facility in Poca, WV. The new facility is four times larger and features 35 docks for loading and unloading.
The new center will create at least 25 new jobs, adding to the 700 West Virginia residents who already work for Frito-Lay and PepsiCo.
“The impact of this state-of-the-art facility cannot be overstatedand we are endlessly thankful to our state and local government officials, community partners and more than 100 dedicated associates who made this day possible,” Maxwell said.
